Patidar Samaj participates, promotes and supports cultural, educational, sports and religious
activities in Uganda.
Get-together for the families of Patidar Community is a regular event that the Samaj organizes.
Usually these get-togethers are organized in conjunction with the various religious and social
occasions of importance to the community.
Patidar Samaj organizes Navratri Festival, held for nine nights in September – October period
based on the Hindu calendar, every year in Uganda. The Samaj organizes this festival of
worship and dance with all the brightness, glitter and splendor. The festivities include the
Garbha dance in the Samaj premises during all the nine days. The festival attracts
thousands of devotees and spectators cutting across the religious and community
boundaries. The Samaj usually invites well known Music bands specialized in Garbha
songs in order to add rhythm and beauty to the dance.
Patidar Samaj Uganda Cricket Team participates in national level competitions in Uganda.
The team is composed of some of the best players of Uganda as well. Samaj also
encourages Volleyball and it is played in the Patidar Samaj premises regularly.
Samaj takes initiatives in organizing religious and spiritual events important to the members
regularly. These include Kathas and Yagnas. The events are usually well attended.
The Samaj also collaborates with other communities organizations in their initiatives to
organize such events.
The Samaj takes part in socio-cultural events such as the Indian Independence Day celebrations held annually in Uganda.
